Great, close to all kinds transport, near shopping
Beautiful, spacious room. Good location. Friendly staff
No breakfast. No free WiFi but luckily located in Union Square where you can find free WiFi.
The trolley bus stopped outside the door, which was very convenient. The concierge was very helpful with booking tours and giving advice about the city, she was very friendly and made me feel very welcome. The Starbucks next door was convenient.
I found the room too small and did not like the decor, especially the huge mirror. I didn't like the fact that there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
Location, the ancient character of the building built in 1928
The upgraded rooms have not been done in a propoer way. It lost the classic touch of the legacy period, yet it failed to take the resident to the modern amenities of such a classy hotel.
Excellent location. Less than 5 minutes to Union Square where you can pick up the tour buses. 10 minutes walk to Chinatown. There was a cable car stop outside the hotel which was 20 to 25 minutes to Fisherman's Wharf. The staff were friendly and helpful. There are lots of cafes located close to the hotel if you chose not to have breakfast at the hotel. There is a Starlight bar on the 21 floor which has free entrance for guest staying at the hotel. Good music and views of the city. Spacious and nicely decorated rooms, good working air con and free WiFi. I would stay at this hotel again if ever in San Francisco.
Very expensive parking fees if you need to take a car with you.
Nice central location, close to restaurants, shopping and attractions.
Bathroom is quite small, it was hard to gracefully get in and out of the shower. When we booked we got a very good rate. When it was time to check out the bill was significantly larger than our booking rate. Fortunately, I had the confirmation and the staff at the desk adjusted the bill immediately.
Location superb restaurant front desk
I liked the staff & location in addition to the good rate
Nelson, Eddie and Leif were outstanding!!! From the "wine, cheese & chocolate" room service to the "keepin' it real" restaurants and tour recommendations, this group made our 25th wedding anniversary truly memorable!!!!! Hats off to the staff at the Sir Drake Hotel (San Francisco). Keith & Vivian Strong
not any small bites/appetizers in the bar.
Beautiful building and interior; Starlight Room is wonderful.
Space as booked for three adults was not provided; extra bed for 3rd adult ultimately did not exist. An additional small room was provided, but this defeated our intention of all staying together. The resolution, such as it was, came very late (after midnight). Explantion and expressions of dissatisfaction to staff brought nothing more than weak apologies.
The decoration is very interesting
I did not like that the rooms have no mini-fridge or coffee machine. You can also hear everything is happening next door.
Good rooms, very clean and friendly staff
Noise at night near my room (1601) from the elevators, especially when the night club is open, every night except Monday! Quite expensive room cost with taxes over $900 for four nights The bar is expensive, over $10 for a glass of wine, buy a bottle at Walgreens over the road. The door cards, mangentic strip type, lose coding when near a phone, so you have to keep getting another one, but you dont know its gone until you get back up to you room, so its a trip back to reception with your ID!
Location is perfect. Hotel is old and new very cool and unique.
No water or mini bar in room but Walgreens across the street for. Munchies and water.
The location. The old world atmosphire.
The parking charge is outragious! I know the Fairmont & Ritz charge even more! They are all out of line! While my room was clean, the windows were so dirty Opaque comes to mind!! Over charged for room service. Ordered a sm. coffee & one Scone, I was charged $25.00 !!! The costumed preson out front did not have a handle on the Taxi service! Three people flagged down cabs while I was waiting next in line!
